Tanning Q&A
Q: How long does it take to apply Tropic Tan?
A:Leave yourself enough time- Whether you’re tanning for that special occasion or as part of your weekly routine, ensure you leave enough time for application and development of your tan. Generally, it takes around 15 minutes to apply the tan. Development time is 8 hours before rinsing off the developer.
Q: How do I tan my hands and feet?
A: Just before you apply your Tropic Tan Mousse, apply your favourite moisturiser to any dry areas such as your hands, feet, ankles, knees and elbows. After applying Tropic Tan to your body, use the excess product on your mitt and gently glide over your hands and feet. We recommend rinsing your hands off 1 hour after application so they don't over develop.
Q: How long should I leave the tan on before rinsing?
A: The longer you leave the solution on, the darker the tan- the longer the active ingredients in the tan are able to be left on the skin, the darker the skin will become. We recommend 8 hours before rinsing.
Don't rinse off with soap- gently rinse off excess topical bronzers/colour in the shower with your hands to ensure that the active tanning ingredient is distributed evenly and not scrubbed off.
Pat yourself dry gently- to ensure that the tan is not rubbed off.
Q: How soon should I shave or wax before tanning?
A:Shave or wax at least 24 hrs prior to tanning– this will ensure enough time for your pores to close and give you an even tan application.
Q: How soon before an event should I apply my tan?
A: We recommend you tan 1 - 2 days prior to any special event. This also allows you time to apply an extra layer of tan if you would like a deeper colour.
Q: What do I need to be a tanning expert?
A: Have your goodies ready - you will need to have your:
- Moisturiser,
- Tropic Tan Applicator Mitt, and
- Tropic Tan Bronzing Mousse ready.
Q: How do I remove my tan?
A: Use the Tropic Tan Exfoliating Mitt to gently exfoliate away old tan. Simply take the Exfoliating Mitt with you in the shower wet the Mitt and exfoliate away any old tan.
Handy tip: Soak in a bath or spa - Soaking in a bath or spa makes exfoliating old tan much easier as the skin is softened and top layers easier to remove.
Q: Can I swim once I have applied Tropic Tan?
A: After applying Tropic Tan do not shower, swim or exercise within the development time. You must avoid water or perspiration while your tan develops. You can swim once your tan has developed but swimming in the sea and chlorinated pools may result in your tan fading more quickly.
Q: How do I prolong my tan?
A: Once you have rinsed off the developer your tan will continue to develop for a further 24hrs. After that we recommend moisturising daily to help lock in your tan for longer.
